Roy Pooler (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Roy Kenneth Pooler, son of Malcolm and Lois Stevens Pooler, was born August 10, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in North Kansas City Hospital, in North Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, one month, and twenty-two days.
On July 29, 1967, he was united in marriage to Judith Kay “Judi” Brauer, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judi, on March 14, 2009; a brother, Steven; and a sister, Lucy.
Roy is survived by a daughter, Glenna Anthony, and her husband, Steve, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Troy Pooler, of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sean, Chase, Cinnamon, Dylan, and Elena; a great-grandchild, Rycin; four brothers, Glenn Pooler, of Louisburg, Kansas, Bill Pooler, David Pooler, and Lester Pooler, all of the State of Tennessee; four sisters, Connie Kirkman, and Rita Kush, both of the State of Kansas, Mary Mitchell, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Esther Klingele; a number of nieces and nephews, including a favorite nephew, Lennie Jackson; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area, and attended school there. After he and Judi were married, they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri, and lovingly raised their family. Roy was a construction worker doing masonry work for a number of years, and then worked as a pipefitter for a commercial sprinkler company. He was a member of the construction workers union and the pipefitters union in Kansas City.
Roy followed the Christian faith throughout his life.
In his spare time he enjoyed going to casinos and gambling. He also liked hanging out with his family and friends and really enjoyed talking to people. He liked riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and taking road trips. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Roy was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he made for his family and friends.
