Ruby Boyd (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Ruby June Boyd, 92, passed away Thursday evening, March 21, 2024, at the Buffalo Prairie Care Center in Buffalo, Missouri. She was surrounded by family and healthcare staff that loved her like family.
Ruby was born in Pleasant Hope, Missouri, on February 19, 1932, to George and Clara (Martin) Cruse. She grew up in Polk County, Missouri with her brother and sisters.
Ruby first met Dale Boyd in the 7th grade, on the stairway at the school, in Pleasant Hope, Missouri. They were united in marriage on April 4, 1953, at the old Rock Prairie Church. They shared over 70 years together. One son, Jim, and two daughters, Mary and Dala were born to this marriage.
She was a lifelong member of Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church.
Ruby enjoyed cooking and sewing. She loved crocheting, embroidery, and quilting items that many people in the Polk County area purchased from her over the years. Going to church and spending time with family and friends was also important to her.
The past 8 years her biggest joy was in spending time with her great granddaughter, Kinsley.
Ruby is survived by her husband Dale, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother and sisters, nieces and nephews as well as many beloved friends.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Rock Prairie Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Hope.
Graveside services will follow at the visitation at 11:45 AM in Rock Prairie Cemetery.
