Ruby Jones' Obituary
Ruby Lucille Jones, daughter of William and Catherine Still, was born January 27, 1920, near Coffeyville, Kansas. She departed this life Friday, August 20, 2010, at her home, in Grovespring, Missouri, at the age of ninety years, six months, and twenty-three days.
On February 15, 1939, she was united in marriage to Laborn Lavell Jones, and to this union three daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laborn, on April 24, 1990; three brothers, Earl, Glen, and Neil Still; and two sisters, Gertrude and Ruth.
Ruby is survived by three daughters, Wilma Long, of Grovespring, Missouri, Geneva Lemons, of Hartville, Missouri, and Lavon Vermillion, and her husband, Bob, of Grovespring, Missouri; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived most of her life in the Grovespring community. She moved to the area as a child with her family in a covered wagon. She and her husband, Laborn, made their home on the farm where she loved working and supporting her husband and family.
Ruby was a longtime member of Mount Zion (Cuba) Freewill Baptist Church.
Later in her life, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was supportive of them in every area of their lives. She loved raising flowers and spending time on her porch swing.
Ruby touched many lived through the years she lived and always kept her faith and family central in her life. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a caring neighbor and friend.
Funeral services and Burial was held at Mt. Zion (Cuba), Monday August 23, 2010, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home , Lebanon, Missouri.
