Ruby Reed (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ruby Ida Reed, daughter of Robert and Florence Bookout Keeney, was born April 30, 1920, near Decaturville, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the age of ninety-seven years, nine months, and five days.
She was united in marriage to J. D. Reed, and they shared a number of years together before his passing.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and one sister.
Ruby is survived by a sister, Dottie DeCoursey, of Mountain View, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Decaturville area and worked at the Rice Stix Factory for several years. After she and J.D. were married, they made their home on their farm near Lebanon. Through the years, Ruby was a devoted homemaker to her husband.
Ruby had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Freedom Church of the Nazarene. She was active in her church for as long as her health would allow.
She was a wonderful cook, liked sewing and caring for her home. She was a very private person who enjoyed time by herself. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Ruby was a loving sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
