Ruby Joy Segebarth (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ruby Joy Segebarth, daughter of Otto and Edna Hoppenworth Westendorf, was born September 12, 1937. She departed this life Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Laurie Care Center in Laurie, MO at the age of 87 years, 9 months, and 26 days. Ruby was born and raised in Sumner, Iowa, where she graduated from High School. She met Mark, and the two were married on January 20, 1956. They moved to Waterloo, Iowa, before living in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Kansas City. Their final move brought her to Lebanon.
During their time in Lebanon, Ruby and Mark purchased Leslie’s Dairy Serve, renaming it “Big Mark’s”. She also served as the secretary at the Sheltered Workshop while Mark was director. In 1983, Mark and Ruby purchased Page Printing, and operated the business together for over 25 years.
Ruby loved her life, and enjoyed spending it with others, as well as traveling. She loved playing Bridge with her friends, was an active bowler, and remained a dutiful wife to Mark throughout their 62 years together. Mark and Ruby spearheaded the Segebarth traveling reunion which just celebrated its 41st year.
Ruby was also an active member of the First Congregational Church for many years, and gave much of her time to the church. She worked diligently to tend to the needs of her community and, most importantly, her family.
Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know her family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories she made for them during her 87 years.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Edna Westendorf, and her husband, Mark.
She is survived by one daughter, Wendy Reece and her husband C. M. of Lebanon, Missouri; one son, Brad Segebarth and his wife Stacy of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Lindsay and her husband Charlie, Whitney, Carson and his wife Courtney, Addison, Haven, and Selah; two great-grandchildren, Linkin and Ridge; two sisters, Carol Kent of Sumner, Iowa and Connie Barrett of Ft.
