Ruby Wiley (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Fern Wiley, age 95, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri.
She was born January 20, 1915 to Harrison Amos Rhodes and Lavada Frances (Wright) Rhodes on their farm near Hurley, Missouri.
For eleven years she taught in one room rural schools in Otto, Tiede, Inmon, Union City and Hampton. She married Almon M. “Am” Wiley on June 4, 1939 in Crane, Missouri.
They had two children, Almon L. Wiley (wife Cynthia J. Schroeder) and Roberta F. Edgett (husband Michael X. Edgett).
She lived in Bolivar, Missouri from 1947 until 2005 when she moved to Clinton, Missouri. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bolivar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Almon M. “Am” Wiley, two brothers, J. Keith Rhodes and Ward H. Rhodes.
She is survived by her brother, Ray A. Rhodes (wife Jacquetta Spears) of Marionville, Missouri, her sister, Emma Jean Eaton of Springfield, Missouri. In addition to her children, Almon and Roberta, she is survived by her grandchildren, Amy R. Wiley (husband Donald Hamera), Dr. Mark A. Wiley (his wife Cindy E. Devocelle), Ann E. Wiley, Alice R. Edgett (husband Justin Lombard) and Patrick G. Edgett (wife Lisa M. Houtchens), as well as six great grandchildren, Callie J. Wiley, Thomas H. Wiley, Henry A. Wiley, Kyle G. Hamera, Emma C. Hamera and Madelyn W. Lombard.
Funeral services will be 1:30pm, Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Jerry Book officiating. Musical selections will be “How Great Thou Art” and “In The Garden” being sung by Malinda Batten with Greg Ankrom playing the piano. A visitation will be held from 1:00-1:30pm, Monday prior to service time at the Butler Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 4:00pm, Monday afternoon at the Crane Community Cemetery in Crane, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Dr. Mark A. Wiley, Donald Hamera, Justin Lombard, and Patrick G. Edgett.
