Rubye Maxvill's Obituary
Rubye Pauline Maxvill, daughter of James Edward and Millie Jane Moore Turner, was born July 16, 1922, near Seymour, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, June 24, 2006, in her home, in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of eighty three years, eleven months, and eight days. On June 12, 1942 she was united in marriage to Herbert “Herb” J. Maxvill, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son and an infant daughter; two brothers, Otis and Audie Turner; four sisters, Inice Young, Wanda Turner, Eva Benson, and Mae Benson. Rubye is survived by her nieces, Fay Johnson, of Seymour, Missouri, Sharon Whaley, of Fenton, Missouri, Susie Bostwick, of Phoenix, Arizona, Donna Frantz, of Seymour, Missouri, Rita Denney, of Republic, Missouri, Angie Dickson, of Rogersville, Missouri, Maxine Claxton, of Seymour, Missouri, Jean, Esther, and Carol Brandon, all of Dearborn, Missouri; a nephew, Marty Maxvill, of Kansas City, Kansas, a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in Seymour, and after her marriage to Herb they moved to California where he was stationed during World War II, she then moved to Springfield, Missouri until his release from the service. They then moved to Wichita, Kansas and in 1960 they moved back to Missouri where they made their home on their farm near Seymour. Rubye had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Cedar Gap Baptist Church. She had worked as an aide in hospitals in California and at the Old Baptist Hospital in Springfield. She also worked at Seymour MFA and Williams Variety Store as a cashier. For several years she worked as a caregiver in private homes, in the Seymour area. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and making beautiful quilt tops. Rubye was a loving aunt and was a caring neighbor and friends. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in the Day Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Memorial contributions to Community Hospices of America may be made through the funeral home.
