Ruth C. McMilian's Obituary
Ruth Catherine McMilian, daughter of Earl and Lutishia Keltner Jennings, was born November 11, 1929, near Brice, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, July 17, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years, eight months, and six days. She was united in marriage to Carl W. McMilian, and to this union four daughters and three sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl, in 1980; two sons, Carl and Marshall McMilian; a granddaughter, Ruth Sien; a brother, Charles Jennings; two sisters, Norma June Caswell, and Dorothy Collier; a nephew, Jeff Caswell; and a brother-in-law, Deryl Caswell. Ruth is survived by four daughters, Mary Kirkland, and her husband, David, Nancy Sien, and her husband, Gary, Carolyn McMilian, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Susan Jones, and her husband, Lonnie, of Eldridge, Missouri; a son, Paul McMilian, and his wife, Jannette, of Lebanon, Missouri; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Durham, and her husband, Henry, of McEwen, Tennessee; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born near Bennett Springs, Missouri, and then moved with her family to Gravois Mills, Missouri. She graduated from the Gravois Mills/Versailles High School. After she and Carl were married, they made their home in Lebanon, Missouri, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Ruth was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her family. Ruth had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Lebanon Family Church. She enjoyed the fellowship that her church offered and lived her faith daily. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and growing beautiful flowers. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be hed at 10:00 a.m. Firday, July 21, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorial contributions to Lebanon Family Church building Fund may be made through the funeral home.
