Ruth Dimock (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ruth Eileen Dimock, daughter of Alvie Ray Hodge, Sr. and Dollie Sparling Hodge, was born May 27, 1925, in Du Quoin, Illinois. She departed this life Monday, October 8, 2018, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years, four months, and twelve days.
On June 17, 2006, she was united in marriage to Robert Allyn Dimock, and they shared the last twelve years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William G. Roam; a daughter, Betty Jean Wilson; a son, Gerald Ray Roam; a step-son, Richard Allyn; a brother, Alvin Ray Hodge, Jr.; and three sisters, Eva Curtis, Lorene Bostic, and Ida Mae Schuckman.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home; a daughter, Carolyn Anderson, and her husband, James “Zeke”, of Waynesville, Missouri; two sons, Greg Dimock, and his wife, Cookie, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Bill Roam, and his fiancée, Linda, of Barnhart, Missouri; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the St. Louis area and continued to live there for several years. In 1954, she moved to Waynesville, Missouri, where she worked at a Dime Store, a Laundromat, and as a clerk at Fort Leonard Wood. She was always a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Ruth had made her profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of Harvest Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Lebanon.
Her faith and her family were at the center of her life and she enjoyed cooking for her family. She liked fishing, working puzzles, and playing all kind of games. She possessed a delightful sense of humor, and was always joyful and cheery. She also loved joking with her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-three years.
