Ruth Mapson's Obituary
Ruth Eleanor Mapson, daughter of the late Leo Lee and Gertrude Jane Carlson Halley was born Saturday, September 27, 1919, in Blue Island, Illinois. She departed this life Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Maryville Manor, Maryville, Illinois, at the age of eighty-eight years, nine months and one day. She was united in marriage to Johnny Ambruso. After his death, she met and married Robert Olmsted whom she was married to for many years. He passed away and she was later married to Charles Mapson, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Gerald Ambruso, and his girlfriend, Catherine Mikolaszuk, of Granite City, Illinois; four grandchildren, Bradley G. Ambruso and wife, Susan, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert B. Ambruso and wife, Terri, of Brighton, Illinois, Traci Lynn Ambruso of Florissant, Missouri, and Lance A. Ambruso and wife, Cheryl, of Granite City, Illinois; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends. Ruth was raised and spent her early adulthood in Chicago, Illinois. She later moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where she remained for over thirty years. Four years ago, she moved to Granite City, Illinois, to be closer to her family. She was a homemaker and had been a beautician earlier in life. In spare time she enjoyed fishing and bowling. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in the Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Return to top
