Ruth Perkins' Obituary
Ruth Leone Perkins, daughter of John Elmer and Alda Ann Lemons Kilfoy, was born February 7, 1920, near Hartville, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, July 27, 2006, in Hartville Care Center, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, five months, and twenty days. On February 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Noel Loman Perkins and to this union one son was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loman, on August 3, 1999; a brother, Claude Kilfoy; and an infant brother. Ruth is survived by a son, Dean Perkins, and his wife, Debi, of Competition, Missouri; three grandsons, Dean Ray Perkins II, of Lebanon, Missouri, Johnnie Loman Perkins, of Katy, Texas, and Kyle Perkins, and his wife, Jennifer, of Lebanon, Missouri; three great-granddaughters, Tristan, Danielle, and Madison Perkins; two great-grandsons, Christian and Ethan Perkins; a sister-in-law, Margie Kilfoy, of Hartville, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Durbin community where she lived all of her life and attended the Crawford and Durbin Schools. Her family was very important and close to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She centered her life around church, family and the farm. Ruth was a longtime member of Little Creek Baptist Church, where she made her profession of faith in Christ and was baptized, at the age of thirteen, in the old church in 1933. Her father served as a Deacon and she greatly enjoyed her church fellowship in years past. Besides caring for her family, Ruth enjoyed cooking, canning, making beautiful quilts, and loved going on the Oats Bus. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006, in Little Creek Cemetery. Burial will be in Little Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Memorials to Little Creek Cemetery may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
