Ruth Stogsdill's Obituary
Ruth Ester Stogsdill, daughter of Mike and Agnes Piskorski Daniels, was born March 21, 1924, Kansas City, Kansas. She departed this life Sunday, August 6, 2006, in Laurie Care Center, in Laurie, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, four months, and sixteen days. On August 1, 1942, in Webb City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Benjamin E. Stogsdill, and to this union one son was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin, on January 29, 1987; and a sister, Alice Kovack. Ruth is survived by a son, Fred Stogsdill, of Camdenton, Missouri; two sisters, Albina “Dolly” King, and her husband, Earl, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, and Rose “Rosie” Vargas, of Lockwood, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; her favorite dog, Maggie; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Kansas City area and worked for the Armour Meat Packing Company during World War II. After she and Benjamin were married, Ruth became a devoted and loving homemaker and mother. In 1970, the family moved to the Lake of the Ozarks and made their home. Ruth had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of West Lake Christian Church. She also belonged to American Legion Zack Wheat Post # 624 Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She was especially known for her wonderful tomatoes. She liked fishing for catfish and would often get up around 4:00 a.m. and fish until the family woke up. Ruth was a loving mother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A second service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2006, in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kansas. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Gardens. Memorial donations to His Place Ministries (for hurricane relief) may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
