Sam E. Judy (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Samuel Eugene Judy, son of Frederick and Thelma Ridgeway Judy, was born December 10, 1964, in Fort Scott, Kansas. He departed this life Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in Cox South Medical Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years, six months, and thirteen days.
On May 13, 1994, he was united in marriage to Misty D. Norris, and they shared the last twenty-seven years.
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Misty, of the home; three sons, Brent, Nathan and Tanner Judy, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Judy, of Lebanon, Missouri; his mother, Thelma Ragsdale, of Fort Scott, Kansas; his father, Fred Judy, and his wife, Christina, of Fort Scott, Kansas; three brothers, David Judy, and his wife, Lucinda, of Cherokee, Kansas, Tim Judy, of Fort Scott, Kansas, and Brian Judy, and his wife, Amanda, of Carl Junction, Missouri; three sisters, Debra Merritt, and her husband, Wayne, of Warsaw, Missouri, Carol Judy, of Franklin, Kansas, and Donna Castellani, and her husband, Robert, of Pittsburg, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Glenda Norris, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Chris Norris, and Charles Norris, and his wife Natasha, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Tammy Ross, and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Fort Scott, Kansas until moving with his family to Lebanon when he was in the fifth grade. He lived in Lebanon and summered in Fort Scott until he graduated from Lebanon High School, in the Class of 1983. He worked at Ramey’s Grocery Store and at a video arcade for a few years, and then was employed as a supervisor at Marine Electric for over thirty years. After he and Misty were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their sons.
Sam had made his profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of Heritage Baptist Church.
He loved softball and had coached softball, baseball and soccer teams for several years. He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting, camping and fishing. He also liked cutting wood for firewood and going to the beach. He had a good sense of humor and always had a nickname for everyone. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his sons and granddaughter.
Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to all the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Funeral services for Sam Judy will be Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy Howe and Rev. Allen Reeves officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 - 7 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Burial will be in Communion Chapel Cemetery.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
