Samuel Dunlap's Obituary
Samuel Merrill Dunlap, son of George and Alice Geneva (Welch) Dunlap, was born February 7, 1937, in Galt, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, November 28, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, nine months, and twenty-one days. He married his soul mate, Sandra Leona Taylor, and together they shared the last twenty-six years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles Dunlap. Sam is survived by his wife, Sandi, of the home; a daughter, Tonya Pierson, and her husband, Scott, of Lincoln, Nebraska; a son, Tom Taylor, and his wife, Mary, of Wichita, Kansas; four granddaughters, Chelsea, Darcy, Mackenzie, and Shelby; a nephew; two nieces; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was raised in Trenton and Plato, Missouri, and then entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After the service, he lived in several different locations before moving to Nebraska in 1978, where he worked for Consolidated Freightways Trucking until retiring and moving to Seymour in 1994. Sam was a member of the Teamsters Union and the EAA. In his spare time he enjoyed flying, bee keeping, and loved to be outdoors. Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
