Samuel D. Lawrence (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Samuel D. Lawrence, son of Eddie M. and Bertie Lucille Pemberton Lawrence, was born April 6, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, March 16, 2014, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, eleven months, and ten days.
On July 18, 1978, he was united in marriage to Anita Kay Yates, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
His father preceded him in death.
Samuel is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Anita, of the home; a daughter, Angela Milton, and her husband, Charles, of Springfield, Missouri; two sons, Tretch Lawrence, of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and Sam “Chub” Lawrence, and his wife, Amanda, of Round Lake, Illinois; four grandchildren, Caitlin, Nevaeh, Savannah, and Cade; a great-granddaughter, Idalie; his mother, Lucille Lawrence, of Richland, Missouri; four brothers, Bill Vansant, and his wife, Sue, of Bates City, Missouri, Mark Lawrence, and his wife, Janet, of Iberia, Missouri, Matthew Lawrence, and his wife, Trish, and David Murdock, all of Stoutland, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and was raised in Iberia, Missouri. He continued to make his home in Iberia for most of his life, and he and Anita lovingly raised their family there. Throughout the years, Samuel was a truck driver for various transport companies, including T.T.T. Trucking for several years. In 2007, Sam and Anita moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home.
Sam had established his own personal relationship with his Lord and Savior and followed the Pentecostal faith.
In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, hunting, and fishing and he loved animals of all kinds. He was always supportive of the “underdog” and was generous to a fault at times. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed doing activities with his children and grandchildren.
Samuel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations to the Humane Society may be left at the funeral home.
