Samuel Schroeder (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Samuel Martin Schroeder, 75, of Ozark, Missouri left this earth on Sunday, July 14, 2019, surrounded by his wife and children after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
Sam was born July 31, 1943 in Springfield, Missouri, and married Diana Green on June 7, 1969. He received his Bachelors’ Degree from Drury University and after teaching at Pacific and West Plains High Schools, he joined the family business and ran Schroeder Greenhouses for many years. Sam later operated Schroeder Properties, developing and providing housing for the West Plains community. He served in many organizations including Rotary Club and Ducks Unlimited and was elected President of the Missouri Florist Association. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in West Plains.
Sam is survived by his wife Diana, and children Sonja (Marvin) Jones, Stacey (Trey) Albin, Jerry (Amanda) Schroeder, and Samantha Schroeder; grandchildren Connor, Ashley & Evan Jones; Zachary, Tyler & Taylor Albin; Paxton, Natalie & Ansley Schroeder, and loving sister Sally Vedal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Martin and Mona Pauline (Grisham) Schroeder and brother-in-law, Jorund Vedal.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Olive Point Baptist Church in Preston, Missouri with Rev. Terry Gentry, Jr. officiating. Escorts will be Connor Jones, Evan Jones, Raymond Green, Jim Lowery, Zachary Albin, Tyler Albin, and Paxton Schroeder. Honorary escorts will be Melvin Green, Jim Gargus, Roy Lee Withrow, Kirt Green, Kyle Green, and Darren Gargus. Interment will be in the Bower Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bower Chapel Cemetery Fund.
