Sandra McCoy's Obituary
Sandra Jo McCoy, daughter of James and Margaret Hobbs Powell, was born December 18, 1959, in Kansas City, Kansas, and departed this life on October 14, 2010, in her home near Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty years, nine months and twenty-six days.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sandra is survived by her husband, William Jackson McCoy, of the home; a son, Galen Dale Taylor, of Sedalia, Missouri; six grandchildren; two brothers, Clinton Lee Powell of Kansas City, Kansas, and Tom Powell of Santa Cruz, California; along with other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, and lived most of her life in the Kansas City and Topeka, Kansas, areas where she was a factory laborer making appliance parts.
She moved to Mansfield in the late 1990’s where she met William and they were united in marriage on July 5, 2003.
Sandra loved all animals, especially horses and horse barrel racing. Because of her love for animals, her brothers always thought she would be a veterinarian.
Sandra was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and niece. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 18, 2010 in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield, Missouri.
