Sanford George Rambo (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Sanford George Rambo, son of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Smith) Rambo was born on July 12, 1934 in Urbana, Missouri and departed this life on September 9, 2019 in Tipton, Missouri surrounded by family. At the time of his passing he was 85 years, one month, and 26 days of age.
Sanford was raised near Urbana, Missouri and attended school at Tunas, Missouri. He was saved and baptized at an early age at Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Sanford was united in marriage to Avis Hicks on June 10, 1961 in Buffalo, Missouri. He spent his time farming and raising cattle. In his free time, he loved hunting or fishing on the river. His greatest joy was his family.
Sanford was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jeanne Horton Riley; three brothers, Shelton Rambo, Shelby Rambo, and Stanley Rambo; three sisters, Roneca Arnn, Ramona Waggoner, and Rajean Rambo. He is survived by his wife Avis of the home; two sons, Duane and wife Angie Rambo of Tipton, MO and David and wife Janice Rambo of Stover, MO; three daughters, Linda and husband Doug Northern of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Teanne and husband Jim Moore of Belton, MO, and Kathy Rambo; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one sister, Leuritta Rountree and husband James of Elkland, Missouri. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Baker officiating. Escorts will be Harlan Dowell, Jordan Pouslen, Quintin Rambo, Dustin Rambo, Daniel Rambo, and Lane Peoples. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
