Sarah Mae Hanger (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Sarah Mae Hanger, daughter of Lewis R. Swift and Mary J. (Gamblin) Swift, was born December 4, 1934, in Fremont, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday November 22, 2015, at Cox Hospital, in Springfield Missouri, at the age of 80 years 11 months and 18 days.
On December 22, 1950, she was united in marriage to James Hanger and to
this union two sons and three daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her spouse James Hanger; her parents, and two brothers, Louie Swift and Jessie Swift.
Sarah is survived by two sons, Gary Hanger, and his wife Patty, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Donald Hanger, and his wife Carol, of Mansfield, Missouri; three daughters, Kay Carter, of Osage Beach Missouri, Carol Lucas, and her husband Jerry, of Mansfield, Missouri, and JoAnn Dye, and her husband David of Ava, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Tommy Swift, of Kennett, Missouri, Dennis Swift, of Fair Dealing, Missouri, Jerry
Swift, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Billy Swift, of Campbell, Missouri; two sisters, Magdalene Smith, of Campbell, Missouri and Betty Boone, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives, her constant companions Chico and Peppy and many dear friends.
She was born and raised in Fremont, Missouri and moved to her farm between Mansfield and Seymour in 1959. Besides helping James on the farm she also worked at Tobin Hamilton and the Lee Plant.
Sarah had made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, was baptized March 14, 2006 and was a member of Mansfield Christian Church.
