Sarah Patricia (Roets) Pool's Obituary
Sarah Patricia (Roets) Pool, daughter of Francis F. and Virginia Marie (Robbins) Calvert, was born September 26, 1930, in Arkansas City, Kansas. She departed this life Thursday, April 19, 2007, in Webco Manor, in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years, six months, and twenty-three days. On January 1, 1946 she was united in marriage to Thomas B. Roets, Sr., and to this union six children were born, he preceded her in death on March 3, 1983. She later married Floyd Arthur Pool, who preceded her in death September 30, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Eddie, Joe, and Clarence; and two sisters, Carolyn, and Mary Alberta. Sarah is survived by six children, Frances Marie Pitchford, and her husband, Joe, of Strafford, Missouri, Mary Ilene Peltier, and her husband, Michael, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Thomas B. Roets, Jr., and his wife, Rosemary, of Seymour, Missouri, Julie Nelson, and her husband, Kelly, of Berryville, Arkansas, Patricia Childress, of Nixa, Missouri, and Brenda Jones, and her husband, Jerry, of Springfield, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Roets, of Salina, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Kansas and later went to New Mexico. Then in the early 1980’s, she moved to Seymour, Missouri, and later to New Cambria, Kansas, to be with her sister. She then moved to the Marshfield and Strafford, Missouri areas to be closer to her family. Sarah had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Catholic faith. She was a member of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security, Senior Citizens League, Cooking Club of America, and the Red Hat Society at Webco Manor. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and doing crossword puzzles. She also loved being outdoors, fishing, and camping. Sarah was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
