Sarah Sullivan's Obituary
Sarah Geneva Sullivan, daughter of George W. and Alice Garrett Cromer, was born April 23, 1916 near Sleeper, Missouri. She departed this life November 26, 2009 in Lebanon, Missouri at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 3 days. On May 4, 1937 she was united in marriage to James William Sullivan. He preceded her in death July 19, 1979. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, James, and a daughter-in-law, Karen Sullivan; a sister, Gertrude Conrad; and six brothers, Claude, Charlie, George, John, Ed and Ralph Cromer. She is survived by one daughter; Betty Davenport and her husband, Clovis, Lebanon, Missouri; five sons, Bobby and his wife Margey, Buddy, and Charles Sullivan all of Lebanon, Missouri, Billy Sullivan and his wife Alecia, Springfield, Missouri, and George Sullivan and his wife, Patty, St Charles, Missouri, a sister, Alice Rhoads, Lebanon, Missouri; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and five great- great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Geneva lived her entire life in Laclede County near Sleeper, Missouri. She worked throughout her life as a homemaker. At an early age she professed her faith in Christ at the Little Log Cabin Church near the Stoutland junction. She loved being a homemaker and always provided for her family. She loved cooking, painting pillow cases and quilting. She also loved taking care of her home and raising beautiful flowers each year in her yard. She also loved taking care of her little dog who was her pride and joy. Geneva’s family was central in her life and her love for them was never ending. She will live eternally in their hearts as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great, great-grandmother; as well as a caring neighbor and friend. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday November 29, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral home Lebanon. Burial will be in the Barnett Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday evening 6-7:00 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Barnett Cemetery Care Fund.
