Sharon Gahm (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Sharon Deanne Gahm, age 68, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Friday evening, November 12, 2010 at her home in Bolivar, Missouri after a very courageous bout with cancer.
She was born December 16, 1941 in Colby, Kansas to William Clifford Smith and Addy Louine (Berry) Smith.
She married Melvin L. Gahm on May 7, 1961 in Colby, Kansas.
Sharon was a Farmers Insurance Group Agent in Colorado and retired in 2003. She moved to Bolivar, Missouri from Arvada, Colorado three years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Smith, two sisters, Betty Olinger and Harlean Mochal.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Melvin L. Gahm of the home, one son, Mitchell A. Gahm and his wife Lenore of Buena Vista, Colorado, one daughter, Jamie L. Brochu and her husband Greg of Dunnegan, Missouri, three brothers, Kenneth Smith and his wife Linda of Fair Play, Missouri, Marshall Smith and his wife JoAnne of Fair Play, Missouri, Eddie Smith and his wife Claudia of Brighton, Colorado, three sisters, Jerry Kinderknecht and her husband Hubert of Henderson, Colorado, Iona Whitaker and her husband Jim of Spokane, Washington, Orita Frank of Spokane, Washington, five grandchildren, Landon, Shelby, Hayley, Katie, and Hayden, two great grandchildren, Gavin and Mason.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Dennis Sitton officiating. Musical selections will be “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban, “Daniel” by Elton John, “Islands In The Stream” by Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers, “You Light Up My Life” by Debbie Boone, “Just As I Am” and “Amazing Grace” by Leidra Stunkel. A video presentation will be played during the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday evening at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Derek Smith, Curtis Smith, Randy Kinderknecht, Gabe Farmer, Matt Williams, Robert Tarrall, and Bryan Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Glasco, Joey Mochal, Darren Mochal, Jim Asch, Rob Asch, Ronnie High, Joshua Smith and Colby Smith.
