Sharon Ruble's Obituary
Sharon Diane Ruble, daughter of William Charles and Edith Marie Ellis Vaughn, was born January 22, 1945, in Tempe, Arizona. She departed this life Friday, December 5, 2008, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, ten months, and thirteen days. On March 6, 1981, she was united in marriage to Leland D. Ruble, and they shared the last twenty-seven years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Dale Vaughn. Diane is survived by her husband, Leland, of the home; a daughter, Caroline Ruble, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Fred Johnson, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Aaron Johnson, and his wife, Tracy, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lillian, Allison, and Ian Johnson, and one eagerly anticipated addition; a sister, Robin Byrd, of Kennett, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born into a military family and was raised in Arizona and Texas. The family then made their home in Marshfield, Missouri, where Diane attended high school and played in the school band. For the next several years, she was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her family. In the early 1980’s, she and Leland made their home in Lebanon, and Diane began to do volunteer work for many local organizations. She helped in the Lebanon High School Alternative School and in the L.H.S. Library for fifteen years. Diane was a faithful member of The Lebanon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she sang in the church choir and also helped with home visits. She belonged to the Lebanon Genealogy Society and enjoyed tracing her family history. She was a very caring person who was always willing to help someone in need. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time reading to her grandchildren. Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Servcies will be held on Tuesday December 9, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery. Visitation is Monday evening 7-8:30 pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
