Shawn Burns' Obituary
Shawn Troy Burns, son of Eugene “Bud” and Barbara Eunice Edwards Burns, was born July 27, 1968 in Camdenton, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, January 18, 2008 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of thirty-nine years, five months and twenty-one days. On June 15, 1996 in Lake Ozark, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Linda Gail Shepherd and was blessed with two daughters. Together they shared the past eleven years. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Faith Marie McKinnon; two brothers, Richard “Rick” Burns and Kevin Burns; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Dorothy Burns and a maternal grandfather, Kelly Edwards. Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; two daughters, Lydia Burns and Zoey Burns; a grandson, Shawn Matthew McKinnon; parents, Bud and Barbara Burns; maternal grandmother, Madelyn Webb; two brothers, Keith Burns and his wife, Brenda, and Rusty Burns all of Camdenton, Missouri; and a sister, Vicky Leffert and her husband, Donnie, of Linn Creek, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. Shawn was a life-long resident of Camden County and worked as a cement finisher for the family business. He also wrote a weekly church related article for The Reporter newspaper. He was saved and a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. His relationship with the Lord and his church family were very important to him. In his spare time he enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Shawn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, grandson, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. He loved everyone he made contact with and left many wonderful memories for all to treasure. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January, 21, 2008, in the Decaturville Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Burns Family Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
