Sheila Johnson's Obituary
Sheila Lynn Johnson, daughter of Sam and Barbara McCluskey Miller, was born June 17, 1969, in Junction City, Kansas. She departed this life Friday, January 22, 2010, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of forty years, seven months, and five days. On May 20, 1994, at the College Church of the Nazarene, in Olathe, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Todd A. Johnson, and they shared the last fifteen years. “Pippi”, as she was affectionately called by her family, is survived by a daughter, Amber Leahy, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Bryce Johnson, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Robert Yohe, of Lenexa, Kansas, and Jay Yohe, and his wife, Teresa, of Rantoul, Kansas; a sister, Pam Leahy, of Desoto, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Karen Johnson, of Bolivar, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in Alta Vista and Olathe, Kansas and graduated from Olathe South High School. She then earned her Bachelor’s degree from Baker University, in Baldwin City, Kansas. Sheila worked in sales for the Wheeling Corrugated Company for fourteen years, continuing with the company after she and Todd were married in 1994. They welcomed Amber into their home when she was twelve and soon after Blake was born. From that time on, Sheila became a devoted homemaker and full time mother. In 2002, the family moved to Lebanon, shortly after the birth of Bryce. She was a member of the garden club, was room mother for all the kids’ activities, and was willing to help in anyway that she could. She always had the answer to any question and maintained a positive attitude at all times. Her family was very important to her and she had many best friends. Sheila was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and know that her family will cherish all the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday January 28, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Lebanon. Burial will be in the Mt. Rose Memorial Park. No formal visitation but friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Bryce Johnson Education fund. Donations may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
