Sherry Lynn Jones (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Sherry Lynn Jones, daughter of Dwight Young and Judy Bennett, was born October 3, 1964, in Springfield, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, March 10, 2011, in her home, near Mansfield, Missouri, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of forty-six years, five months, and seven days.
On October 9, 1982, she was united in marriage to Giles Jones and to this union three children were born.
Sherry is survived by her husband Giles, of the home; two sons, Brent Jones and wife Ashanti of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Brian Jones of Mansfield, Missouri; a daughter, Ashley Kelley and husband Richard of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Lanysha, Troy, and Chase Kelley, and Keira and Braxton Jones; her father Dwight Young of Seymour, Missouri; her mother Judy Bloomer of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, Wayne Young and wife Kim, Dwight Young Jr., and Mikey Young, all of Mansfield; a half-sister, Donna Young of Mansfield, Missouri; three half-brothers, Donnie Young, Brad Young both of Mansfield, and Eugene Stevens, of Jonesboro, Arkansas; several nieces, and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Sherry spent all of her life living in the Mansfield area, and had worked as the supervisor of Subway Restaurants in Seymour and Gainesville.
She had professed her faith in Christ and was of the Pentecostal faith.
In her spare time, Sherry enjoyed playing cards and was an excellent archery target shooter. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending as much time as possible with them, especially her grandchildren.
Sherry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the many memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
