Sherry Sheets (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Sherry Lynn Sheets, daughter of Clifford and Ressie Chastain Long, was born April 1, 1956, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, August 17, 2011, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, four months, and sixteen days.
On September 12, 1975, she was united in marriage to Michael L. Sheets, and to this union one son was born.
Her parents; and a brother, Charles Clifford Long, preceded her in death.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Mike, of the home; a son, Michael C. Sheets, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Barbara Nutter, and her husband, Billy, Georgia Rector, and Judy Mundt, and her husband, Jack, all of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. After she and Mike were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their son. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and son, Sherry also worked at H. D. Lee, Bennett Spring, Starlight Lanes, and Shepherd Hills Motel. Most recently, she was employed by the Copeland Corporation.
Sherry attended the Lebanon Church of the Nazarene during her childhood. She possessed a very giving heart and was always willing to help others.
In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, working in her garden, and bowling. Her family was always the center of her life, but she also loved her dogs, especially her favorites, “Amos”, “Wilson”, “Max”, and her newest, “Lewis”. She had an upbeat spirit and maintained a positive attitude at all times.
Sherry was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
