Sherry L. Wilson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Sherry Louise Wilson was called home to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the age of fifty-nine years, ten months and twelve days.
She was born in Lebanon, Missouri on March 28, 1963 and remained in the Lebanon area her entire life.
Sherry met Sidney “Pete” Wilson at a young age and on May 24, 1980, the two were united in marriage at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Together they would share over 42 years of happiness and hardships, always leaning on each other and God through the ups and downs of life.
Pete said when he thought of Sherry, he thought of Proverbs 31:10-31, where the Bible speaks of the qualities of a virtuous woman. Sherry possessed those qualities and Pete gave the glory to God for blessing him with such a faithful woman.
Sherry was saved and baptized at the age of fourteen at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church under the
direction of Pastor Fred Bobe.
For many years, Sherry served the Lord in many ways, including Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Leader, Song Leader, Christmas Play Director and a dedicated witness who would tell others about Jesus.
When Sherry arrived in heaven, she was looking forward to seeing those who preceded her in death, including her son, Sidney Frederick Wilson, IV, her mother, Peggy Louise Wilson; her grandmother, Martha Rogers; her granddaughter, Victoria Louise McClure; and her brother, James. Sherry always told her family, when she died, she was going to Heaven to see Sid and hug everyone’s babies. We know she is doing just that.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney “Pete” Frederick Wilson, III, of the home; her daughter, Peggy Dale and her husband, Raymond Sutton, Jr. of Stoutland, Missouri; her father, Henry Dale Wilson of Stoutland, Missouri; two brothers, Herbert Sadler and his wife, Ellen of Stoutland, Missouri and Russell Sadler of Lebanon, Missouri; and a sister, Robin Salmons and her husband, Raymond of Lebanon, Missouri.
Sherry had a love for gardening, growing flowers, home life, family and church and sharing the Love of Jesus to everyone, especially the youth. She was kindhearted, giving, an eternal optimist, cheerful and a peace maker. She was a loving, caring mother and adored by her grandchildren. She will be missed by her friends and family and they will cherish the many memories they made with her during her lifetime.
