Shirley is survived by three sisters, Marcella Candler, and her husband, Eddie, and Colleen Abbey, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Patricia “Patty” Goudelock, and her husband, Paul, of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, James E. Abbey, and his wife Anne, of Edelstein, Illinois, and Michael Abbey, and his wife, Marcie, of Nixa, Missouri; two nieces; six nephews; nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews; her trainer and special friend, Diane Vaughn; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She enjoyed watching television and collecting dolls and bears. She also was an Elvis Presley fan. She loved her dogs, “Bronson”, “Itty-Bitty”, and especially her Pit Bull, “Norton”, which Mike gave to her. She treated her pets like they were children. Shirley was a loving sister, aunt, and great-aunt, and was a sweet and caring friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday August 11, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.
