Shirley Ann Glodt's Obituary
Shirley Ann Glodt, daughter of George Daley and Lola Marie Stufflebeam Grigg, was born August 24, 1933, in Fayette, Alabama. She departed this life Thursday, May 10, 2007, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, eight months, and sixteen days. On January 10, 1959, she was united in marriage to Edward George Glodt, and to this union two daughters and three sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Edward, on March 29, 2000. Shirley is survived by her children, James Edward Glodt, and his wife, Carina, of Hayward, California, Robin Lynn Wolfkill, of Des Moines, Iowa, Tammie Ann Lawson, and her husband, Terry, of Lebanon, Missouri, David Michael Glodt, and his wife, Janine, and Michael Dean Glodt, all of Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Tanner, Angelica, Judson, Jarrod, Erik, Samuel, Aubrey, Caleb, and Tristen; a step-brother, Earl Jaeger, of Mexico, Missouri; many other relatives and friends, and her beloved Pug dog, “Pugsley”. She was born and raised in Alabama, and then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where she met and married Edward. They then made their home in St. Joseph, Missouri, for several years, before moving to Fort Dodge, Iowa. In the late 1990’s, she and Edward moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their retirement home. Throughout her life, Shirley was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family. Shirley made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Lebanon. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and working puzzles. She liked going to car races and was a fan of the NASCAR circuit. She always put her family first in her life along with her dog “Pugsley”. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 4 - 5:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Hughes Senior Center may be made through the funeral home.
