Shirley G. Chapman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Shirley Gene Chapman was born February 25, 1942 near Long Lane, Missouri to Jesse and Fern Tadlock. She passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was eighty-two years, four months and nineteen days of age.
Shirley was raised in Dallas and Laclede Counties. On May 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Ivan Earl Chapman. They were married just short of fifty years when Ivan passed away on April 8, 2007. In addition to her two husbands, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David and an infant son, Kevin.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Chapman and his wife Tammi of Long Lane, Missouri and Darrin Chapman and his wife Michelle of Fair Grove, Missouri; one sister, Joan McGuire of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Jim Tadlock of Warsaw, Missouri and Larry Tadlock of Buffalo, Missouri; her former daughter-in-law Debbie Chapman Wiese; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Shirley was employed at H.D. Lee for many years where she made several life-long friends. She attended Cedar Ridge Free Will Baptist Church for many years.
She enjoyed gambling and going to casinos. Above all, her family was most important to her. Her life rotated around them and she looked forward to family dinners and celebrating special occasions.
Shirley will be remembered for her love of family and her dedication to her loved ones. Her warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at 6 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A visitation will follow. Burial in New Hope Cemetery near Long lane, Missouri will be at a later date.
