Shirley June Chastain (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Shirley June Chastain, daughter of Andrew Langley and Opal Warren Langley, was born June 15, 1953, in Neelyville, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, June 2, 2020, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years.
On March 25, 2005, she was united in marriage to Tommy W. Chastain, and they shared the last fifteen years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sonny Langley; and two sisters, Louise Thompson, and LaVerne White.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Tom, of the home; five daughters, Stephanie Huggins, and her husband, Dale, of Fisk, Missouri, Belinda Nichols, and her husband, Otis, Michelle Phillips, and her husband, Jody, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Tamara, and Shandra, and her husband, Rick, all of Sedalia, Missouri; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Darlis Watson, of Fort Worth, Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Butler County, Missouri, and received her education there. She continued to make her home in the Neelyville community in the Bootheel of Missouri. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and also worked as a florist for a time. After she and Tom were married in 2005, they moved to Lebanon where Shirley worked in the opening of the Walgreen’s Store and also was a pharmacy technician for some time.
Shirley had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Grace Calvary Pentecostal Church in Lebanon. Her faith was very important to her and she also enjoyed singing in her church.
In her spare time she liked fishing and spending time with her family. She had a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation will be in one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon.
A memorial has been established to the Flatwoods Cemetery and donations may be left at the funeral home.
