Shirley Dorcy's Obituary
Shirley Angeline Dorcy, daughter of William and Shirley Story Doyle, was born September 28, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri. She departed this life Friday February 5, 2010 in her home near Mansfield, Missouri at the age of fifty-six years, four months and seven days.
On January 25, 1980, Shirley was united in marriage to Daniel Dorcy and to this union two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Shirley is survived by her husband Daniel of the home; one son, Josh Justin Dorcy; one daughter, Stephanie Amber Dorcy; her mother, Shirley Troiani of Mansfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Shirley was the daughter of a military man and spent her younger years living in many different locations. After her marriage to Daniel, they made their home in Birmingham, Alabama for a short while before moving to Atlanta, Georgia where they lived for twenty years. They later lived in Willow Springs, Missouri before moving to Mansfield eight years ago. While residing here she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in education.
In her spare time she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, and daughter and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Cemetery.
No formal visitation is scheduled.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield.
