Shirley E. Finch (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Eileen Finch, age 84 of Bolivar, MO passed away at 5:20 AM Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar.
She was born on August 13, 1925 in Ottawa, KS the daughter of Alvin W. Warner and Gertrude (Samples) Warner.
She was united in marriage to Neal Colby Finch on May 20 1945 in Ottawa, KS and had just celebrated their 65 wedding anniversary.
Shirley was a homemaker, raising she and Neal’s 6 sons. She was a very intelligent woman. She attended the College in Ottawa, KS and Kansas State University.
With Neal’s work, She and Neal lived in many places, including Colorado Springs, CO; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Kansas City, MO; Washington, D.C. Upon Neal’s retirement, they moved to Bolivar 23 years ago.
Surviving is Shirley’s husband Neal C. Finch of the couples home, 6 sons and their spouses, Jack W. and Grace Finch of Appleton, WI; Jeffrey T and Marilyn Finch of Kill Devils Hill, NC; Christopher D. and Ellen Finch of Stafford, VA; Scott D. and Crystal Finch of Amissville, VA; Patrick N. and Siobahn Finch of Stafford, VA and Mark Finch of Lexington, KY. Also a sister-in-law, Helen Warner of Bolivar, MO; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 5-7 PM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick Wissman officiating. Musical Selections will be "How High The Moon" and "Stardust" by Gary Freeman-Pianist. "I Only Have Eyes For You", "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" and "The Way You Look Tonight". Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Casketbearers will be Ben Finch, Nick Finch, Matt Finch, Chris Finch, Scott Finch and Zach Finch.
