Shirley Garner (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Shirley Ann Garner, daughter of Ernest and Elva Stewart Ruble, was born August 7, 1937, near Lebanon, Missouri.  She departed this life Sunday, November 15, 2015, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, three months, and eight days.
On March 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to Thomas Lloyd Garner, and they shared forty-four years before his passing on January 1, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Junior and Eugene Ruble.
Shirley is survived by a daughter, Janice Markel, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Don Hall, and his wife, Lori, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Ruble, and his wife, Brenda, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Loretta Blain, of Lebanon, Missouri, Lena Fisher, and Carol Wiley, both of Kansas City, Missouri; several nieces and nephew; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area.  After she and Tom were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their children.  In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Shirley worked as a cook at the Munger Moss Restaurant for several years.  For the last twenty-six years, she had worked as a cook for the Hughes Senior Center in Lebanon.
In her spare time she enjoyed working puzzles and word search games.  She also liked gardening, and going to garage sales.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making special recipes for her family and friends.  Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hughes Senior Center, and left at the funeral home.
