Shirley June Jepson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Shirley June Jepson, daughter of Lee and June Brott Pelton, was born November 8, 1936, in Geneva, Ohio. She departed this life Sunday, April 5, 2020, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, four months, and twenty-eight days.
On May 2, 1969, she was united in marriage to Dennis Gilbert Jepson, and they shared forty-two years before his passing on December 6, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jason; and a sister, Nancy Pelton.
Shirley is survived by four daughters, Brenda Chutas, of Colebrook, Ohio, Patricia Nicholes and Betty Tranchida, both of Geneva, Ohio, and Justine Gray, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Roger Peck, of Stuttgart, Germany, and Greg Jepson, of Albany, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Pelton, of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Dwight Pelton, of Houston, Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Geneva, Ohio and graduated from Geneva High School. She worked as an executive secretary at various places throughout the years and was also a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She lived most of her life in Ohio, and then moved to Lebanon, Missouri in 2000. Wherever she lived, she made a beautiful home for her family and herself.
Shirley was a member of Sleeper United Methodist Church. She made prayer shawls and had crocheted many as gifts.
In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She centered her life around her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-three years.
Shirley will be returned to Ohio for burial next to her husband.
