Shirley Temple Jones (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Shirley Temple Jones, daughter of Elmer and Virginia Evans Jenkins, was born December 21, 1942, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, November 1, 2014, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, ten months, and ten days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Powell; and a sister, Betty Endsley.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Sherry Powell, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Connie Powell Coffman, of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; a son, Monte Powell, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Dawson, Jessica, Ashley, Briana, Britney, and Kevin Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Bradley, Kayden, Harley, Sophie, Shooter, Hunter, and Devon; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and graduated from Lebanon High School. She then made her home in the Lebanon area for most of her life. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and mother, Shirley worked as an inspector for the H. D. Lee Company for several years, and then was employed as a certified medical aide for Countryside Manor.
Shirley had professed her faith in Christ at Community Baptist Church, near Lebanon.
In her spare time she enjoyed working in her yard and growing beautiful flowers. She dedicated her life to her family and loved having her family around her. She also liked visiting with her neighbors and friends.
Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
