Shirley Krueger (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Shirley Dean Krueger, age 95 of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023 in her daughter’s home. She was born March 28, 1927 to Waverly Winerith Rose and Thelma Lee White Rose in Kansas City, Missouri. She was raised in Kansas City and graduated from East High School. She married Max Krueger on June 18, 1946 and they had two daughters, Leslie and Allyson.
Shirley had a thirty-plus year career with the Federal Aviation Administration. She made many friends while working for the FAA and was quite respected in her field. She also worked for a time at the original Sears & Roebuck Store in Kansas City.
She was a charter member of Pleasant View Christian Church in Independence, Missouri and after moving to Lebanon, joined the Family Church.
Shirley worked with “Grandparents Rights” to pass legislation to assist grandparents in Missouri. She also volunteered with the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max, on April 30, 2011; her sister, Beverly Jean Rose and her son-in-law, Carlton Milby.
She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Milby of Independence, Missouri and Allyson Peters of Lebanon, Missouri; her granddaughter, Brynn Smith and her husband, Steven; five great-grandchildren, Dylynn, Cooper, Langston and Cole McBurney and Charlotte Smith; and her brother, Waverly E. Rose of Overland Park, Kansas.
Shirley was a member of the Garden Club and enjoyed her flower garden. She did a beautiful job at needlepoint and was a wonderful seamstress, sewing clothes for her daughters and granddaughter. She was also involved in 4-H and liked reading and doing word search puzzles.
She was very devoted to her family. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. They were so much fun to be around and she looked forward to every minute she could be with them.
Shirley was a wonderful mother and friend. She will be remembered by those whose lives she impacted. We are confident that her family and friends will have many stories to tell when they reminisce about her life and the difference she made.
