Shirley Jean Parrack (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Shirley Jean Parrack, age 76, of Elkland, Mo passed away peacefully September 12, 2017 in her home with her husband by her side. She was born June 16, 1941 to the late Elva Leon and Martha Emogene (Richards) Meadors.
Shirley was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leonard Floy Parrack, October 14, 1961 in Springfield, Missouri. To this union, two daughters were born. Leonard and Shirley lived in Polk County most of their married life, but lived in Dallas County during their Golden Years. Shirley attended Star Ridge and Bolivar Schools in her youth. She was saved at the age of 12 at Little Niangua Missionary Baptist Church. She joined the church and was baptized February 14, 1954. She was a faithful member of Lindley Creek Missionary Baptist Church until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She laid up many prayers for family and friends and was a devoted wife to Leonard who pastored many churches during their years together. Shirley worked as a waitress in Slagle, MO until she and Leonard got married. She then babysat for several years until their first child was born. Shirley found great joy in her family and enjoyed keeping her grandchildren as long as she was able. She loved to cook for family and friends and no one ever left her table or home hungry.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Elva Leon and Martha Emogene Meadors; one brother-in-law, Johnnie Dale Parrack; and one sister-in-law, Ona Edwards. She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard of almost 56 years, of the home; two daughters, Tamela Jones & husband Andy, of Rogersville, MO and Kimberly Perry & husband Scott of Elkland, MO; five grandchildren, (and 1 more due in the Spring) Derrick Smead, Bailey Massey, Clinton Perry, Lane Jones, and Chloe Jones; her sister, Sharon Jones & husband Jim of Springfield, MO; a sister-in-law, Judy Desmond & husband Greg of Manchester, MO; a brother-in-law, James Arlie Parrack of Buffalo, MO. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
