He was born and raised in the Grovespring area and then lived most of his life on his farm, near Grovespring. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Korean War on the Russian border. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to his farm. Through the years, he had a dairy operation and also raised cattle.

He had a love for music and sang in a music group at one time. He was the neighborhood mechanic and was always there when someone needed him. He was steadfast in his convictions and you always knew where you stood with him. His family was important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Sidney was a loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
