Skip Myers' Obituary
Skippy Ray “Skip” Myers, son of Verlin Hadley and Wilma Mae Reid Myers, was born November 14, 1960, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, January 8, 2008, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of forty-seven years, one month, and twenty-four days. On April 13, 1991, he was united in marriage to Debora Ann Wilson, and to this union one son was born. His mother preceded him in death. Skip is survived by a son, Dusty Ray Myers, and his fiancée, Amber Rice, of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandsons, Conner and Cole; a stepson, Bradley A. Paul, of Lebanon, Missouri; three step-grandchildren, Blake, Tyler, and Kylie; his father, Verlin Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri; his step-father, Loman Robertson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Rocky Myers, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of friends. He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School. He had worked for Tracker Marine for some time and also worked in metal building construction. Skip had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church. He was a very concerned person who was always willing to help others. He enjoyed living on the river and being outdoors where his favorite activities where hunting and fishing. He also liked collecting World War II guns, and arrowheads. He enjoyed going to the drag races in Rogersville and caring for his dogs. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandsons. Skip was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. His family and friends will treasure the special memories that he created for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, in Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to Hospice Care may be made through the funeral home.
