Sonya Ann Hough, daughter of Stanley and Sandra Ann Shannon Harrill, was born March 20, 1968, in Springfield, Missouri. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2026 in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehab, following a long battle with Huntington’s disease. Sonya was raised on a farm near Brownfield, Missouri and attended Gasconade C-4 Schools through the eighth grade. She then attended Lebanon High School and graduated with the class of 1986.
Sonya professed her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age at Brownfield Baptist Church. She later attended Antioch Baptist Church.
She worked at various insurance companies throughout her career. She enjoyed assisting customers with their claims and made several friends along the way.
In August of 1992, she was married to John Hough and to this union, their daughter, Emma Grace, was born. She was a devoted mother to Emma and lovingly raised her.
Sonya is preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Harrill; her brother, Ken Harrill and great-nieces, Raylyn, Ella and Halle Mauk.

At the age of forty-six, Sonya was diagnosed with Huntington ’s disease. Even while suffering with the pain of her disease, she never complained. Her trust in God was unshakable.
Sonya had a passion for cooking, crafting, boating and camping. She loved her dogs very much and her family was so very important to her. She was a faithful friend, a devoted daughter and a loving mother.
She was loved and admired not only by her family, but by all those who knew her or came in contact with her. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.
We would like to thank the Hough family for their love and support through Sonya’s illness. The family would also like to thank those who cared for her at Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation.
