Soo-Fatt Lam (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Soo-Fatt Lam, age 88, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 7, 2013 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar.
He was born on September 28, 1924 in Guangzhou, China the son of Weng Chow Lam and Chooi Heong Woo.
He was a self-employed businessman in Malaysia. After retirement he and his wife were very active in church work, opening their home to missionaries traveling throughout Malaysia. He was nicknamed “Job” by the missionaries because of his patience and long-suffering.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Amelia, Siew-Lin Lam, his only son, Dr. David Lam, and son-in-law, Jesse O. Watson.
He is survived by his two daughters, Esther and husband, Dr. Stephen Chang, Perth, Australia, Yin Watson, Bolivar, daughter-in-law Jessie Lam, Houston, Texas, and his grandchildren Sharon and husband, Paul Gabrielson, Paul and wife, Jo Chang, and Ruth Chang, all of Perth, Australia; Ashley and husband, Chris Menefee of Springfield, Missouri, Travis and wife, Ashlea Watson with great grandson, Keegan, of Bolivar, Troy and wife, Sarah Watson of Bolivar, and Price Watson and his fiancé Whitney of Adrian, Missouri with many nieces and nephews living in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
A private interment will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 on the family farm.
