I had the pleasure of getting to know Bud when he was mayor in 2005. He was always working for the betterment of Lebanon and cared deeply about the people and serving the people of Laclede county. During that time we also became friends. His caring heart, love of God and values were easy to see. His life was a solid oak tree whose roots will live on in the community forever. I had the privilege of working for Mayor Allen, learning many great life lessons under his leadership. The greatest of these lessons was this-love God and love your neighbor. I watched Bud live out this simple, yet profound and impactful message every day through his service to others. Bud was a generous civic leader and Lebanon booster his whole life. He loved Jesus, his family, his nation and his land. He valued truth and loyalty above all. He will be sorely missed by many in Laclede County for a very long time.
