On June 26, 1982, he was united in marriage to Nevelyn Elise Lambeth, and to this union two sons, Robert and Scott, were born.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Glenn; and two brothers, James Robert and Scott Allan Pruitt.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Nevelyn, of the home; two sons, Robert Pruitt, of the home, and Scott Pruitt, and his wife, Heather, of Bolivar, Missouri; his mother, Geraldine Pruitt, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1980. He then earned his Bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, and his Master’s Degree of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also received his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Midwestern Seminary. He began preaching at the age of sixteen at Elm Grove Baptist Church. He had ministered the congregation of the New Mitchell Grove Baptist Church in Barr, Tennessee for a few years. He had worked in counseling for a number of years, and had been with Pathways Behavioral Counseling Center for the last seven years. He also was serving as pastor of Elm Grove Baptist Church for the third time.
Stanley professed his faith in Christ early in his life. His faith was shaped in a Godly home. He had ministered several churches and counseled many people. He also loved to participate on mission trips whether overseas, out of state, or in his own backyard.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where he enjoyed gardening and fishing upon occasion. He had participated in many different organizations including, Lebanon Area Families, Laclede House, Laclede Industries, the Lebanon Drug Counsel and church activities. He was a loving, caring, compassionate man that touched many hearts. He was always seen with a smile on his face, and would take time to help anyone, and always had the right words to say. He exemplified how to be a perfect son, husband, father, and Christian.
Stanley was a loving husband, father, son, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered as a devoted family man, a concerned counselor, and for having a kind pastor’s heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Dyer County Missions or Elm Grove Cemetery.
