Stanley Satterfield's Obituary
Stanley Lee Satterfield, son of Martin James and Josephine A. McDowell Satterfield, was born March 3, 1944, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, August 28, 2006 in his home, at the age of sixty-two years, five months, and twenty-five days. In 1964, he married Marcia Lemert and to this union two children were born. On December 24, 1982, he married Edith V. Hendee Kesner and they shared twenty-two years together before her death on July 27, 2004. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Lowell Satterfield, and two sisters, Thelma Meeth and Allene Anderson. Stanley is survived by one son, Aaron Satterfield, of Raytown, Missouri; two daughters, Stanna Cox, and her husband, Wayne, of Greenwood, Missouri, and Gay Lynn Smith, and her husband, Barney, of Lone Jack, Missouri; six grandchildren, Allix Cox, Cassie Cox, Brandy Smith, and her fiance’, Jon Hereth, Corey Smith, Kiara Smith, and Taylor Satterfield; one great-grandson; one brother, Dean Satterfield, and his wife, Linda, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Willene Donigan, Opal Weddle, and her husband, Ted, and Joyce York, and her husband, Glen, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri and was a 1962 graduate of Lebanon High School. He then attended Cowley Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas and Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas graduating with a BBA degree. Stanley entered the U.S. Army in 1968 and faithfully served his country being sent to Vietnam. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and had received several medals. He also received his Master’s degree in Business while in the military. Stanley’s very first job was driving an Ice Cream truck in Arkansas City, Kansas and later owned several restaurants in Lebanon, including the Midway, Madison Place, and the Munger Moss. He also established Satterfield Renovations in Kansas City. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, making furniture, drawing and sketching. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Stanley was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, August 31, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Lebanon. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2006, in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
