Stella Jean McCabe (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Stella McCabe, 90, most recently of Bolivar, MO passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 with her children by her side.
She leaves behind her daughter, Karen Nelson and husband Joe of Morrisville, MO; son, Alan Malinowski and wife Nancy of Humansville, MO, grandson David Librach and wife Patty of Allentown, PA and granddaughter, Erica Librach of Chalfont, PA. Stella also leaves behind several stepgrandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was born on November 5, 1924 in Stratford, Connecticut to Stanislawa and Wladyslaw Krawczyk. Stella was the youngest of six children. All of her siblings preceded her in death.
After moving to New York at a young age, Stella graduated from high school at the age of sixteen. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College in New York, Stella continued her education to receive her teaching certification and master’s degree. She taught elementary school for many years.
Stella was married to the love of her life, Robert McCabe, in 1973. He passed away in 1982.
Stella had a style all her own. She was known for her hats. She loved to dance and talk, telling old stories.
After living in Florida for many years, she moved to Missouri to be near her children.
The family want to thank the staff at CMH for their loving care and her neighbors, especially Wanda Allen, for always being there for mom.
