Stephanie and I became friends through Mariner Girl Scouts when we were teens. Our friendship grew in our young adult years, during marriages and the births of our firstborns. In fact, I had dinner at Stephanie's house the night I went into labor. We lost touch when Stephanie moved to St. Louis, but we reconnected many years later through Facebook. I was delighted to run into her just last Friday night when she was in Hannibal. We only had a chance for a brief talk, but we were both so happy to see each other. I was hoping to get to see more of her in the near future. I am so saddened that I won't be able to. This world will be a colder place without her in it. She was such a sweet, giving person. I am so sorry for Tom. My prayers go out for comfort for him, all of the family, and all who loved her.
