Stephen Sanders' Obituary
Stephen Ira Sanders, son of Donald and Barbara Riley Sanders, was born April 14, 1949, in Rock Island, Illinois. He departed this life Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-seven years, eleven months, and twenty-six days. He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Jason Sanders; and a sister, Carla Foster. Stephen is survived by a son, Jeremy Sanders, and his wife, Michelle, of Mobile, Alabama; two daughters, Heather Jordan, of Milan, Illinois, and Sarah Harness, of Moline, Illinois; five grandchildren, Ethan, Aaron, Zachary, Ashley, and C.J.; his mother, Barbara Henson, of Moline, Illinois; two brothers, David Robb, and Robin Robb, both of Rock Island, Illinois; a sister, Caron Nugent, of Rock Island, Illinois; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lori Wildermuth; a special friend, Carla Haggard, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois, and graduated from Rock Island High School. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army for a few years. For most of his life he worked in the contracting business, selling siding and windows. He had lived in Missouri at various times in his life and moved to Lebanon, Missouri three years ago. In his spare time he liked being outdoors where he enjoyed fishing. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and was lots of fun to be around. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren, who thought of him as a big Teddy Bear. Stephen was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Lebanon. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
