Steven "Bubbles" Goggil (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Steven “Bubbles” George Goggil, son of Edward Emil and Elizabeth Mae Meyer Goggil, was born in Peoria, Illinois. He departed this life Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, one month, and one day.
On November 10, 1995, he was united in marriage to Victoria Marsh. He had two sons.
His parents preceded him in death.
“Bubbles”, as he was called by his family and friends, is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Victoria, of the home in Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Shane Goggil, and Steve Goggil, both of the state of Illinois; two granddaughters; one brother, Walter “Butch” Goggil, and his wife, Cathy, of Mossville, Illinois; two sisters, Diane “Dino” Dorelle, and Lisa Mann, and her husband, Brian, of Chillicothe, Illinois; several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and attended from Manual High School. He joined the military as a young man, and served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Marines he returned to Peoria. He made his home in the Peoria, Illinois area for the next few years working at various jobs including, painting, working at Caterpillar and Butternut Bakery. He was a member of the American Legion and was an excellent sharpshooter. He received the following awards, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, and the Combat Action Medal. He had a big heart and was an outgoing family man. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked fishing, and playing poker. He enjoyed buying, selling, and trading flea market items. He loved his family dearly and also loved his dogs “Hope” and “Grace”
Steven was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the memories that he made with them during his lifetime.
